Background Information and Mission

Piano Clinic is owned and operated by Bryce Pate, who started learning to tune and repair pianos in jr. high school by working with his own piano tuner on weekends. I won’t tell you how long ago that was, but let’s just say it was at least 40 years ago. After finishing high school, earning a degree in electronics and working in a variety of jobs, he returned to that earlier love of working with pianos and began his career as a piano tuner for piano dealers, public and private schools, universities, and the general public.

In addition to working to perfect his craft as a piano tuner, he began studying the many aspects of piano repair and piano regulation (adjusting the many parts of a piano keyboard so that all the parts work together to deliver maximum efficiency whether the pianist is playing fast, slow, soft, loud or somewhere in between).

While doing contract work a few years ago for a Dallas piano dealer, the quality of our work was noticed by one of the finest piano manufacturers in America. As a result, we were chosen to “concert prep” a new grand piano that was shipped to Dallas by the Mason & Hamlin Piano Company for a special concert.
