Does my piano always need to be tuned after moving it?

That depends. Are you moving it across the room or to a different house?
It’s not so much the move, but the change of

environment that affects the tuning. A piano that is carefully moved across a room or in a building may not need tuning. However, a move by truck to a different home will most likely require the piano to be tuned.
As the piano gradually adapts to its’ new environment, the size and shape of the wooden structure is likely to change slightly, causing it to go out of tune. This process can take 2 weeks or more, so you should wait at least that long before having it tuned.
