Most manufacturers recommend four (4) tunings during the first year due to the extra stretching that occurs when strings are new. After the first
year, most manufacturers recommend a minimum of two (2) tunings a year. Some pianos may need tuning more often because of climate fluctuations (temperature and humidity), vigorous playing, the condition of the piano or demands of the pianist.
